Celebrity Finders & Film Locations
...Sites That Provide Contact Data, Location of Past Films, etc.

Some of the web sites linked on this page are about finding where films have been made. And some are about finding celebrity/agent addresses or simply spotting them via sites that function as online ankle bracelets for stars while turning fans into cell-phone camera paparazzi..

  • Celebrity BlackBook <CelebrityBlackBook.com> - Claims to have tens of thousands of celebrity addresses.

  • Filmed Here <Filmed-Here.com> - This appears to be a user-input site. You can look up a large number of films but not all of them had locations when we checked. And there was no immediately visible way to start from a location search. That might be because the site said they were upgrading their database for the moment. (Maybe we will check back in the future).

  • Gawker <Gawker.com> - Highly publicized super-chatty site allows users to report locations mostly around New York City and Los Angeles where they've spotted celebrities, in the apparent premise that they cannot possibly be psychologically stressed by "Gawker Stalkers" then sent to the scene - tracking and outing their favorite haunts. Gawker is a popular manifestation of America's patholigical celebrity obsession. But it's hard not to peek.

  • Hollywood Locations <HollywoodLocations.com> - (details later)

  • Mail Hollywood <MailHollywood.com> - (details later)

  • Movie Locations Guide <MovieLocationsGuide.com> - Nifty site uses Google map mashup to pinboard previous film locations used in New York City, Los Angeles and London.

  • Reel Streets <ReelStreets.com> -
web site excerpts: "A site devoted to British film locations, and the places where films were made in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, in the years 1920's to the late 80's."

  • They Film Here <TheyFilmHere.com> - This site uses Google mapping that enable you to zoom in on many cities to see what films were made at what locations. Pretty good stuff!

  • The Worldwide Guide to Movie Locations <Movie-Locations.com> - The Worldwide Guide to Movie Locations is a book by Tony Reeves. We have it and it's quite resourceful. But the web site - very snazzy by the way - provides a ton of location info free to get you started.
